Captain Thomas began his career at the office in Corrections. He transferred to Uniform Patrol after completing the LSU Basic Law Enforcement Academy. In February of 2008, Captain Thomas was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to command over Scotlandville Substation. He served as commander of Scotlandville for more than ten years before transferring to commander of Gardere Substation. Currently, Captain Thomas is an active member of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity Inc. and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). Captain Thomas is a combat veteran retired after 26 years of service with the Louisiana Army National Guard. In serving his country in support of “Operation Iraqi Freedom”, Captain Thomas earned the Combat Action Badge. Captain Thomas is married to the former Desireé Honoré and is the father of two. He is a member of Living Faith Christian Center.

Scotlandville Sub-Station is composed of 1 Commander, 1 Secretary, 16 uniformed Deputies, consisting of 4 shifts with 4 Deputies per shift. The Sub-Station also has 14 Reserve Deputies that periodically patrol to help assist with the increased number of calls, which is estimated to be around 650 calls per month.

The Deputies are responsible for answering calls in a prompt and professional manner when called upon. Deputies also assist the Warrant Division with issuing misdemeanor and felony warrants that are issued within the zoned area. The number of warrants served is estimated to be 300 warrants per month, resulting in the capture and booking of some of Baton Rouge’s most wanted criminals. Due to the recent catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina, the FEMA trailer park (Renaissance Village) has been located within the Sub-Stations patrol area. The Deputies are responsible for making periodic checks on the park, to ensure that all residents and FEMA property are safe and secure.
